About data processing
Below you can read how we process your data, where we store it (or have it stored), what security techniques we use and who has access to the data.
Webshop software
LightSpeed
Our webshop has been developed using Lightspeed software. Personal data that you make available to us for the purpose of our services is shared with this party. Lightspeed has access to your data in order to provide us with (technical) support; they will never use your data for any other purpose. Based on the agreement we have concluded with them, Lightspeed is obliged to take appropriate security measures. These security measures consist of the application of SSL encryption and a strong password policy. Lightspeed uses cookies to collect technical information regarding your use of the software; no personal data is collected and/or stored. Lightspeed reserves the right to share collected data within its own group in order to further improve its services.
Web hosting
LightSpeed
We purchase web hosting and email services from SpeedLight. SpeedLight processes personal data on our behalf and does not use your data for its own purposes. However, this party may collect metadata about the use of the services. This is not personal data. SpeedLight has taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to prevent the loss and unauthorised use of your personal data. SpeedLight is bound by a confidentiality agreement.
Email and mailing lists
Lightspeed
We send our newsletters and transactional emails using our web shop software “Lightspeed”. All confirmation emails you receive from our website and web forms are sent via Lightspeed's servers. Lightspeed will never use your name and email address for its own purposes. At the bottom of every email sent automatically via our website, you will see the “unsubscribe” link. If you click on this, you will no longer receive emails from our website. This may seriously reduce the functionality of our website! Your personal data is sent, stored and accessed securely by Lightspeed. Lightspeed uses cookies and other internet technologies that provide insight into whether emails are opened and read. In addition, Lightspeed processes information about you as the recipient and the subject line of emails to improve the quality of its services. This data is stored for 30 days. Lightspeed reserves the right to use your data to further improve its services and to share information with third parties in this context.
We use the services of LightSpeed for our regular business email traffic. This party has taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to prevent misuse, loss and corruption of your and our data as much as possible. LightSpeed does not have access to our mailbox and we treat all our email traffic confidentially.
Payment processors
Pay.nl
We use the payment service provider Pay.nl to process (part of) the payments in our webshop. Pay.nl processes your name, address and place of residence details and your payment details, such as your bank account or credit card number. Pay.nl has taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data. Pay.nl reserves the right to use your data to further improve its services and, in that context, to share (anonymised) data with third parties. In the event of a request for deferred payment (credit facility), Pay.nl shares personal data and order data with post-payment service providers. All the above-mentioned safeguards with regard to the protection of your personal data also apply to the parts of Pay.nl's services for which it engages third parties. Pay.nl does not retain your data for longer than is permitted by law.
WebwinkelKeur reviews
We collect reviews via the WebwinkelKeur platform. If you leave a review via WebwinkelKeur, you are required to provide a name and email address. WebwinkelKeur shares this information with us so that we can link the review to your order. WebwinkelKeur also publishes your name on its own website. In some cases, WebwinkelKeur may contact you to provide an explanation of your review. If we invite you to leave a review, we will share your name and email address with WebwinkelKeur. They will only use this information for the purpose of inviting you to leave a review. WebwinkelKeur has taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data.
WebwinkelKeur reserves the right to engage third parties for the purpose of providing its services, for which we have given WebwinkelKeur permission. All the above-mentioned safeguards with regard to the protection of your personal data also apply to the parts of the service for which WebwinkelKeur engages third parties.
Shipping and logistics
PostNL / DPD
When you place an order with us, it is our job to have your package delivered to you. We use the services of PostNL/DPD to carry out the deliveries. For this purpose, it is necessary for us to share your name, address and place of residence details with PostNL/DPD. PostNL/DPD uses this information solely for the purpose of executing the agreement. In the event that PostNL engages subcontractors, PostNL/DPD will also make your details available to these parties.

We sell (some of) our items via the Bol.com platform. If you place an order via this platform, Bol.com will share your order and personal details with us. We use this information to process your order. We treat your data confidentially and have taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss and unauthorised use.

Purpose of data processing
General purpose of processing
We use your data exclusively for the purpose of providing our services. This means that the purpose of the processing is always directly related to the order you place. We do not use your data for (targeted) marketing. If you share data with us and we use this data to contact you at a later date, other than at your request, we will ask for your explicit consent. Your data will not be shared with third parties, other than to comply with accounting and other administrative obligations. These third parties are all bound to confidentiality on the basis of the agreement between them and us or an oath or legal obligation.
Automatically collected data
Data that is automatically collected by our website is processed for the purpose of further improving our services. This data (e.g. your IP address, web browser and operating system) is not personal data.
Cooperation with tax and criminal investigations
In certain cases, DS Cosmetics and Skincare B.V. may be required by law to share your data in connection with tax or criminal investigations by the government. In such cases, we are obliged to share your data, but we will oppose this within the limits of the law.
Retention periods
We retain your data for as long as you are a customer of ours. This means that we retain your customer profile until you indicate that you no longer wish to use our services. If you indicate this to us, we will also consider this as a request to be forgotten. Based on applicable administrative obligations, we are required to retain invoices containing your (personal) data, so we will retain this data for as long as the applicable period lasts. However, employees will no longer have access to your client profile and documents that we have produced in response to your assignment.
Your rights
Under applicable Dutch and European legislation, you, as a data subject, have certain rights with regard to the personal data processed by or on behalf of us. Below, we explain what these rights are and how you can exercise them. In principle, to prevent misuse, we will only send copies and duplicates of your data to your email address already known to us. If you wish to receive the data at a different email address or, for example, by post, we will ask you to identify yourself. We keep a record of completed requests; in the case of a request to be forgotten, we administer anonymised data. You will receive all copies and duplicates of data in the machine-readable data format that we use within our systems. You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office at any time if you suspect that we are using your personal data in an incorrect manner.

You can submit a request to that effect to our contact person for privacy matters. You will receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you copies or copies of all data about you that we have processed or that has been processed on our behalf by other processors or third parties to the email address known to us. In all likelihood, we will no longer be able to continue providing services in such a case, because the secure linking of data files can no longer be guaranteed.
